The Oakley City Council Five (McMurray, Shaw, Henderson, Williams, and Meadows, four of whom are officers of the Rotary Club of Oakey, has outdone themselves. Read the below and access the link I placed at the bottom.
BREAK UP THE OAKLEY CITY COUNCIL FIVE. Today, July 13, is the first day that candidates seeking to be a member of the Oakley City Council to represent either District 2 or District 4. The Oakley City Council Five (McMurray, Shaw, Henderson, Williams, and Meadows, four of whom are Rotary Club of Oakley officers) are running scared. So, they are pulling out all stops to try and stymie the election process.
Again, they have come up with bogus charges to try to “discipline” me further. A copy of the letter our City Attorney emailed me is below. So, they will meet to “come up with some ideas” to quiet me.
The thing is, the censure has cost the City $200,000 to $250,000 in City tax funds. I would imagine their silliness will cost the same. Remember, in the process, the Five refuses to release a copy of the report. They will continue in this manner.
The only effective way to derail the Five and the runaway train ot replace both Henderson and Shaw this September. I am calling all Oakley residents to ponder our dilemma and for people in District 2 and District 4 to step up and run for office.
Note:
To file, one must make an appointment with the City Clerk to attend a filing orientation at City Hall. My thought is that, as soon as the appointment is made, the City Clerk notifies City Manager McMurray of the information (this should not happen, but I do believe it does). McMurray passes it on to Meadows, who seeks out candidates to dissuade them from running for office.
