Childcare a must post-pandemic. Below is a timely article from the East Bay Times. It emphasizes the quandary mothers are experiencing as the economy reopens after the pandemic. As you read, it becomes clear that childcare support is needed for mothers, especially “off-hours” childcare. The issue needs to be addressed during the Oakley Strategic Plan meeting on April 19th. It is imperative to contact the Oakley City Council supporting addressing the issue, especially since ARP money is coming to Oakley to be designated, in part, for childcare for our parents. City Manager Bryan Montgomery wants to build an eight-million-dollar addition to the Rec Center. I believe the City Council, the governing body of Oakley, could allocate the money to support Oakley’s parents and children.
